This is one of the easiest home remedies on getting rid of your split ends. All you have to do is take one teaspoon of organic extra virgin olive oil, pour it into your hands to warm it up, then put it in your hair. When you distribute the oil in your hair, make sure you distribute it evenly throughout your hair. Do not wash it out right away, because it takes time to work it’s magic. It even makes your hair smoother and shinier! Do this once a month and you will notice a big difference.

Maybe other remedies haven’t worked or just need to try something new, go to your hairdresser and get a trim. No, you do not need to cut off five inches of your beautiful locks of hair, only a half of an inch would be proficient. This way allows for your hairdresser to cut off your split ends, other than you trying to fix your damaged hair. Get your hair trimmed a half inch off every three to four months, to keep your damage-free hair!

This is a unique idea that I’ve never tried, but is worth trying. Using a cracked egg, take the egg yolk and apply it to the ends of your hair. If you also suffer from a dry scalp, then you can also use the egg yolk for that too. Massage the egg yolk into your scalp or throughout the ends of your hair. After you apply, rinse it out thoroughly after you’ve let it sit for fifteen minutes.

Heating Tools

If you have already fixed your damage hair, how can you continue to have healthy hair and not re-damage it? This is called prevention, and is very important in maintaining your healthy hair. One way to prevent your hair from becoming damaged is use less heating tools, which include curling irons, hair dryers, and straighteners. If you are known to use a heating tool daily, or multiple times a day, then try taking a day off. Instead of using a hair dryer everyday after you shower, try letting it air dry. With limiting yourself in using heated tools on your hair, it will allow your hair over time to heal itself instead. In a sense, we only have one head of hair, so it is important to “baby” it sometimes, and care for it, so it looks healthy 24/7.

Water Temperature

Are you known to use hot water a lot when you shower? If you are noticing that your hair isn’t feeling as healthy as it should, switching your water temperature while you shower is also another way to prevent damaged hair. Instead of always using hot water while you shower, try washing your hair using cool water. Showering in cool water not only helps your hair, but it helps your skin! No, I am not asking you to freeze yourself while you are in the shower, but simply cooling the water, and saving your hair a few degrees will do wonders!
